Services The Store The Co-op Store is one of several service facilities owned and operated by the Student Cooperative Association, Inc., a non-profit organization serving Indiana University of Pennsylvania. It is operated as a competitive retail enterprise, with resulting net profits reverting to the student activities budget. Last year alone, we gave back over $625,000 to the betterment of student life here on the IUP campus. AdvanText AdvanText is our textbook reservation program offered to all IUP students on the main campus. After scheduling each semester, the students supply us with a copy of their schedule; we pull their books and have them ready for pick up when they return to campus for the next semester. Some of the numerous benefits to this include: getting first selection of used books (when available), not having to stand in long lines at the store, no hassle finding where the books are on the shelves, it’s all done for you. All you have to do is supply your schedule, arrange payment and pick them up. It’s that easy. Having first selection of used books saves the students 25% or more off the cost of a new book. Book Buyback The store buys back current editions of books everyday. Twice a year the store conducts buybacks at premium prices based on the need for books right here on the IUP campus. Students can receive anywhere from 50 to 66% of the price they paid for a book, if it is being re-used here at IUP. If the book is still a current edition and is being used on other campuses around the country the student will receive up to 30% of the price they paid. If there is some need for the book, our wholesaler will speculate that someone may use it again and pay a wholesale price for it. If the book is going into a new edition the book will not be worth a monetary value, but the educational value you have gained from it could be well worth the price you paid for it. Academically Priced Software Check with us before you make any purchases of software or add any type of software to the system you will possibly be purchasing to bring to campus.  We offer Microsoft Office 2003 Professional for a low price of $99 to qualified IUP students.  Microsoft Office 2003 includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Publisher.  Six major programs at just under $17 each is quite a deal.  We also offer Windows XP Professional either the full version or the upgrade for the low price of $99. The campus offers McAfee Virus Protection Free of Charge to IUP Students – we carry the McAfee companion products as well as Symantec products.  It’s a highly recommended that you have these things in place before you come to campus in the fall.  Other major software companies offer Educational Discounts of their software including but not limited to Adobe, Macromedia and Corel.  Call us anytime for more information and pricing on any of these products. Custom Framing  Our helpful staff will guide you through the process from color and frame selection to the completion of your work. We are a full service frame shop. Each frame is created individually. We cut and join your frame to your project’s specifications. Framing and/or matting is available for memorabilia, artwork, photos, certificates, needlework, sports jerseys, artifacts, awards, service medals and many other projects. All work done on premises by an experienced framer. Special Orders If you are looking for a particular item that is not in stock or we don’t normal carry the store would be happy to special order it.  If it is something for a campus event, fund raiser, group activity or your own daily use just let us know, we can help. We have well-established relationships with numerous vendors who can supply us with just about anything you would or could need. We offer free delivery on campus for special orders. Salute to Graduates Twice a year the Co-op Store takes the time for “Salute to Graduates”.  The store puts together everything the graduate needs to take care of, in one location. We fit each student for caps and gowns, have vendors handy for diploma frames, class rings, announcements and have the Registrar’s office come down to help make sure all of their requirements are fulfilled for graduation.  We, also, take care of the faculty and administrator needs for the ceremonies. Debit or House Accounts The store offers to set up debit or house accounts to help with alternate payment options, to the benefit of the parties involved.
